Loaded Leprechaun

Loaded Leprechaun

In honor of St. Patrick's Day, Mr. B and I collaborated to bring you a bit of mad mixology. We don't do green beer around here. In fact artificially colored drinks are probably not something you'll ever see. Instead we mixed together a few of our favorite flavors with an Irish twist.

Whenever I send Mr. B to pick up something at the store, an unknown law of the universe places a pint of Haagen-Dazs in his bag. So the forces converged and we found ourselves with St. Patrick's Day coming up, and coffee ice cream in the freezer. The result is delicious way to wrap up any dinner and have a bit of fun at the same time.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Loaded Leprechaun
Serves 2

Ingredients:
1/2 cup whole milk
1 cup coffee ice cream (Haagen-Dazs is nice)
2 oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
2 oz Starbucks Coffee Liquor

Garnish:
Dark Chocolate Powder

Directions:
Set ice cream out on the counter for 5-10 minutes to soften. Next place all ingredients except the dark chocolate powder in a blender. Blend until just smooth. Pour into individual glasses. Garnish by placing chocolate powder in a fine sieve and gently tapping it over the top of the drink to dust with the powder.

I like the composition in your photo. More than that though, I love the creativity...I don't do artificially green colored food/condiments either. Just not my thing. Personally, I am making my avocado salad with cilantro today for St. Patrick's Day. I'm tellin ya, I'm still spending my first check for ad revenue on an ice cream maker...you made me do it! ♥
